I Unsubscribed From Every AI News Channel. It Saved My Deep Work

Last month, I unsubscribed from every AI news channel, deleted my bookmarks, and muted every “AI expert” in my feed. It wasn’t an act of ignorance; it was an act of survival.

If you’re a creative professional with years of experience, you know the feeling: a constant, low-grade anxiety that if you’re not keeping up with every new AI tool, you’re falling behind. This fear is the engine of a powerful trap, one that serves the agenda of

The Cult of Brute-Force Productivity, a empty narrative that preaches the speed of the latest tool over the depth of your hard-won craft.

I fell into that trap. This is the story of my escape, and the simple, resonant system I built to replace the noise.

The Diagnosis: The High Cost of “Keeping Up”

The AI news cycle isn’t designed to inform you; it’s designed to hook you. It’s a dopamine-driven machine that fractures your focus and creates a state of perpetual distraction.

  • It Causes AI News Fatigue: The sheer volume is impossible to process, leading to decision paralysis. You spend so much time learning about new tools that you have no energy left to create with them.
  • It Devalues Your Experience: The cycle creates the toxic illusion that the newest plugin is more valuable than your unique taste and intuition. It tricks you into believing your experience is a bottleneck, not an asset.
  • It Steals Your Focus: Every “game-changing” update provides a fleeting hit of novelty, creating an addictive loop that pulls you from deep work into shallow consumption.

This isn’t just an inconvenience; it’s a direct threat to your creative identity.

The Practitioner’s Scar: A Tuesday I’ll Never Get Back

This isn’t a theoretical problem. This is a scar from my own practice.

The breaking point was a Tuesday. I had cleared the entire day for a music project. By 4 PM, I hadn’t turned on my modular synths once (analog modular synthesiser for making music). Instead, I’d spent six hours falling down a rabbit hole that started with a review of a new text-to-video model and ended with me testing three different AI voice cloners I didn’t need. I had nothing to show for my day but a folder of half-baked experiments and a profound sense of creative exhaustion.

That was the moment I realized the “research” wasn’t helping me; it was the thing I needed to be rescued from.

The Antidote: A System for Resonant Attunement

The solution isn’t to ignore AI, but to shift from a frantic state of chasing every update to a calm practice of attunement.

Cosmodestiny teaches that what is truly meant for you resonates; it doesn’t demand to be chased. This system is the practical application of that philosophy.

I call it the Resonant Signal Scan.

  1. Protect Your Time: I dedicate one 90-minute block per week to awareness. The rest of the week, the news cycle does not exist. This treats my focus as a sacred, non-negotiable resource.
  2. Curate Your Signal: I replaced the firehose with a small, curated list of deep thinkers and practitioners. I am listening for signal, not noise.
  3. Filter for Resonance: I filter everything through two questions: Does this align with my core mission? And does this solve a real, foundational problem for my community, or is it just a fleeting trend?

This process transforms your relationship with information. The anxiety of “keeping up” is replaced by the quiet confidence of knowing you will encounter what is truly relevant to your path.

The Real Payoff: More Finished Work, Less Anxiety

This is about more than just managing information. This is about finishing that album. It’s about writing that chapter. It’s about having the mental space to solve a client’s brief with a truly innovative idea, not just the latest trendy tool.

This is how you reclaim your creative sovereignty. It delivers concrete benefits:

  • You Finish More Projects: By protecting your focus, you reclaim the hours needed for the deep work that actually moves your career forward.
  • You Trust Your Own Taste Again: You stop looking to trends for validation and start listening to your own hard-won intuition.
  • You Escape the Burnout Cycle: You replace the frantic energy of the hype cycle with a sustainable, calm, and confident creative process.

In an age of infinite, generic content, your unique, messy, human voice is your only true advantage. The AI news cycle is a machine designed to silence that voice. This system is the shield that protects it.

An Invitation

This is my story, but it’s a shared struggle. This is a journey of discovery we are on together, a “live, open experiment” in how to co-evolve with this new intelligence with our integrity intact.

The video version of this story is a more personal, unscripted “Walk & Talk” exploring the emotional side of this journey. You can watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/@manolo.remiddi

But the real work happens in the conversation. What is your relationship with the AI news cycle? Have you felt the fatigue? What systems have you built to protect your focus?

Let’s build the antidote together.

Resonant AI Notes:

Here is a summary of the collaborative process behind the “I Unsubscribed From Every AI News Channel. It Saved My Deep Work.” blog post.

  • AI-Human Iteration: The AI drafted the initial post, Manolo provided a “brutally honest” critique, and the AI executed all five requested revisions to create the fortified v2.0.
  • Visuals: Visuals were generated with AI.
